4/15 Monday, Tonto National Forest firefighters conducted a burn in and around the Shooting Pits in Lower Sycamore on the Mesa Ranger District. Crews treated 28-acres with a broadcast burn. Crews have kept the fire contained despite some strong winds in the area. Crews will continue to hold, patrol and monitor interior pockets of heavier fuels smoldering over the next few days.
