3/25 Payson Police and DPS worked together to arrest a man they say assaulted his girlfriend over several days and then barricaded himself in their apartment when officers tried to arrest him. Officials say Monday evening they responded to the apartment on Ash Street and removed the woman from the residence. The suspect, Harold Theisan, barricaded himself in the apartment and refused to exit, at which time SWAT responded. The team deployed flash-bangs to gain entry into the residence and arrest Theisan. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. Theisan was jailed on felony domestic violence, weapons and assault charges.
