1/23 The Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests is planning to start a burn on Monday that could take the month of February to complete. Crews are planning to burn the Benny Knoll slash pit in Greer, off of Highway-373. The pit will remain closed while the burn is taking place. Crews also plan to burn 900-acres of mechanical and thinning piles within the West Escudilla Project. Smoke will be visible from Springerville, Eagar, Nutrioso, and Highways-180/191 and 60.
