1/5 Beginning with the Jan. 6 Council Meeting, the City of Flagstaff is implementing enhanced security screening for all attendees, including employees, councilmembers, and members of the public. Meeting attendees will enter Council Chambers through an OpenGate weapons detection system, designed for quick, walk-through screening. For those unable to use the walk-through system, a handheld metal detector will be available as an alternative screening option. As before, weapons are not permitted inside City Hall. Lockers remain available at the entrance for secure storage of any weapons. Meeting attendees are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early to allow extra time during this initial implementation period.
