12/8 The National Interagency Fire Center says there were 2-wildfires last week, one in New Mexico and the other in North Carolina. Officials say both fires were declared 100% contained by the end of the week. Since January 1, 62,580-fires have burned over 4.9-million acres. This remains above the 10-year average for number of fires, but below average for acres burned. The National Preparedness Level remains at one.
