3/19 DPS seized hundreds of pounds of illegal drugs during a traffic stop that occurred on March 11-th. A trooper stopped a minivan on eastbound I-40 near Kingman for traffic violations. The driver showed signs of criminal activity at which time the vehicle was searched. The trooper located a large number of packages beneath a rug in the back of the vehicle. A total of 447-pounds of cocaine was seized, with an estimated street value of over $12-million. Both the driver and passenger were arrested and held on felony drug charges.
