7/10 The National Interagency Fire Center says firefighters are working to suppress and contain 39-large fires across the country. 12,971 firefighters and support personnel are working the fires. Officials say new, large incidents were reported in multiple geographic areas, especially in the northwest and southern portions of the country. So far this year, 38,541-fires have burned more than 3.4 million acres across the U.S.
