2/5 Firing operations began yesterday on the Cataract Burn, northwest of Tusayan. The Arizona Department of Forestry says crews were able to successfully treat 300-acres with fire Wednesday. The project calls for another 1,700-acres to be treated with firing operations continuing today. The agency has 2-other burns they want to complete by the end of March, weather permitting.
