6/08 Grand Canyon National Park officials say an 18-year-old died of what is believed to be heat related complications while hiking on Bright Angel Trail last week. The park received a 911 call on June 3-rd, stating an 18-year-old had collapsed while hiking in the area of Havasupai Gardens. Rangers tried to revive the teen, but all attempts failed and he was pronounced deceased. The young man was on a day hike down to the Colorado River and then back to the top on Bright Angel Trail. The man’s body was recovered and turned over to the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office. A name was not released.
