8/26 The National Interagency Fire Center says 148-new fires were reported across the U.S. Tuesday. Officials say 14-new large fires were reported with 93-large fires already being fought. So far this year, firefighters have responded to 51,295- wildfires that have burned more than 7.9-million acres. This is 127% of the 10-year average for fires and 165% for acres burned.
