11/4 DPS released a few more details into a Saturday afternoon fatal crash, on Highway-69, in the Mayer area. Officials say a dark SUV headed northbound, crossed the paved median and collided head-on with a white pickup. After the collision, the SUV caught fire. The front-seat passenger was unable to escape the burning vehicle and was pronounced dead on scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No names were released.
