Curbside Activity Kits for Kids, Tweens and Teens @ East Flagstaff Public Library

Presented by East Flagstaff Community Library at East Flagstaff Community Library.

Grab an Activity Kit for kids outside the library each week during our curbside hold hours for a new craft or activity! New bags will be ready for pickup at EFCL starting at 2PM each Monday from 1/11/21 to 3/13/21 (while supplies last). Curbside hold hours are: Mondays & Wednesdays, 2pm-6pm/Fridays & Saturdays, 10am-2pm.

Prescott Center For The Arts Young Playwrights Festival

The annual Young Playwright’s Festival is back for its 11th year! If you are a creative writer in grade 4 to 12, you are eligible to submit your original 10 minute script to the competition for cash prizes as well as the chance to have your play produced by PCA. Submissions open February 1.

Submissions for the Young Playwrights Festival this year open February 1, 2021 and close April 30, 2021.

Scripts will be read and scored by a panel of readers from Prescott Center for the Arts. The winning playwrights will be awarded their prizes at the 1st Festival Performance.

1st Place Award–$250

2nd Place Award–$150

3rd Place Award–$100

The winning plays, plus plays receiving Honorable Mentions, will be produced at the Young Playwrights Festival at PCA once shows are back in full swing.

The playwrights for these selected plays will be invited to participate in PCA’s Young Playwrights Workshop, working with published playwrights and PCA directors and technical staff to bring their written scripts to life on the PCA stage.  The workshop will take place this summer, with performances of the selected plays.

All submitting playwrights will be invited to participate in selected Master Classes during the Young Playwrights Workshop.

Auditions for plays being produced, as part of the Young Playwrights Festival will be announced in late May or Early June.  Playwrights are invited to audition for the selected plays, and auditions are open to all interested actors.  Those who wish to audition need to be aware that rehearsals for the performances will take place during the dates of the Young Playwrights Workshop. There may be possible Master Classes included in the workshop that will be open to actors in the Festival Shows.

The Phoenix Mural Festival partners with Arizona artists to bring joy and imagination to our neighbors across the city. Join us on Wednesday, March 3 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. for an engaging virtual panel discussion with Phoenix Mural Project Director Danielle Foushée and festival artists. The 2021 Phoenix Mural Festival celebrates and explores the theme of sustainability. Learn how the festival got its start as a digital archive, its goals to preserve art and collect stories, and what inspires the artists and creators in Valley of the Sun.

Free admission to this virtual event. Donations very appreciated!  A Zoom link to join the presentation will be sent via Confirmation email.
