Free Old-time Ornament Making Activity at Sedona Heritage Museum All Month

            The Sedona Heritage Museum is hosting their annual homemade holiday ornament table in the historic Fruit Packing Shed from December 1 to 30, from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

            This activity is designed to engage people of every age, and especially intergenerational family groups, to make holiday ornaments and simple old-time decorations. This free activity, no museum admission required, will allow visitors to make small gifts, adornments for holiday packages or trees and wreaths, or simply spend some quality time with family or friends doing this ‘make & take’, using instructions and samples as provided.

            The Sedona Heritage Museum is on the National Register of Historic Places, and located at 735 Jordan Rd. in Jordan Historical Park in Uptown Sedona. For more information, call the museum at 928-282-7038.  www.sedonamuseum.org.

Prescott Valley Public Library (7401 East Skoog Blvd.) presents author Pam Houston, Wednesday, December 11th, 2019 from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm in the Prescott Valley Public Library 1st Floor Auditorium. Pam Houston is the author of the memoir, Deep Creek: Finding Hope In The High Country, as well as two novels, Contents May Have Shifted and Sight Hound, two collections of short stories, Cowboys Are My Weakness and Waltzing the Cat, and a collection of essays, A Little More About Me, all published by W.W. Norton.  Her stories have been selected for volumes of The O. Henry AwardsThe Pushcart Prize, Best American Travel Writing, and Best American Short Stories of the Century among other anthologies. She is the winner of the Western States Book Award, the WILLA Award for contemporary fiction, the Evil Companions Literary Award and several teaching awards.  She teaches in the Low Rez MFA program at the Institute of American Indian Arts, is Professor of English at UC Davis, and co-founder and creative director of the literary nonprofit Writing By Writers. She lives at 9,000 feet above sea level near the headwaters of the Rio Grande.
