Prescott Studio Tour
Oct 5 – Oct 7 all-day

From Friday, October 5 through Sunday, October 7, 2018, the 11th Annual Prescott Area Artist Studio Tour will offer attendees the special opportunity to visit many of the Quad-City area’s talented artists as they work in their studios. This celebration of local art will showcase 80 juried artists in 51 private studios, as well as 30 additional artists in three Art Centers, which are organizations that encourage arts practice and provide facilities for ongoing arts education. Attendees of this free, self-guided event may begin at any location, meet the artists, observe their creative processes and purchase unique works of art. The Tour will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily; detailed information and maps are available on the website.

Most artists on the Tour — whether appearing at their private studios or the Art Centers — will be actively demonstrating their craft. This will allow attendees to gain insight into the materials, techniques, and processes used in creating a work of art. Artists participating in the Tour specialize in a wide variety of mediums, ranging from painting to sculpture to jewelry and textiles.

The Tour will launch with a gala reception on Wednesday, October 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Elks Performing Arts Center in Prescott. This event is free and open to the public, and will provide attendees with an early chance to meet several artists featured on the Tour and view their work while enjoying music and refreshments.

Most artists on the Tour will be raffling one of their works of art. Raffle tickets may be purchased and used at any Tour location. Proceeds from ticket sales will be used to fund next year’s Tour, as well as art programs for children in the Quad-City area.

Pricing: Free

Date: October 5-7, 2018

Fifth Annual Clarktoberfest on Main Street
Oct 6 @ 1:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 6th. This is the day the Clarkdale Downtown Business Alliance along with The Clarkdale Foundation and The Town of Clarkdale bring you our biggest and best party of the year.  Join us from 1-9pm for our Fifth Annual Clarktoberfest on Main Street in Historic Downtown Clarkdale. This event spans the street for two blocks of downtown and includes kid events in the park.

There will be food from Clarkdale restaurants, many different craft breweries represented along with the wineries of Clarkdale. This year the Northern Arizona Blues Alliance will hold their fourth annual International Blues Competition from 1-5pm and at 6pm local musical favorite Potent Motion will take the stage. Main Street will be loaded with artists, arts & crafts, local businessess and community organizations, plus activities for all ages. The park will be the host of Dogtoberfest for our furry family dog members, too.

For more information on the event, to sign up as a volunteer or to print your vendor application please visit www.clarktoberfestaz.com or Facebook/Historic Downtown Clarkdale.

Taste of the Wild
Oct 7 @ 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Are you up for a great event at the Heritage Park Zoo on October 7th! For adults only. It is the largest fund raising event for the zoo. Not many know that the zoo survives solely on private donations from the public and grants. They receive no state or city funding. They run over 250 animals through their doors, that are injured or need rehoming. If they can go back to the wild, that is where they go when healthy enough to be released.
This event on Oct 7th is a great way to enjoy an afternoon from 2 – 6pm. Live music (3 bands this year!), tastes (all you want) from many restaurants, wineries and breweries, included with your tickets. Gambling tables and animal encounters too. Also, a silent auction with some fantastic packages including Art (from some of our MAG members!), Disneyland and other travel packages. Over 21 only (because alcohol).
Tickets are $75. You can purchase now and leave in “will call” to pick up the day of the event.   All money goes to help the animals.
