YCSO responds to Plane Crash off I-17 and Bloody Basin Road

11/18 Sunday morning, YCSO responded to a plane crash about 9-miles east of I-17 and Bloody Basin Road. The passenger on the plane reported the Cessna-172 crashed and the pilot was trapped inside with minor injuries. YCSO Off Highway Vehicle Units responded to extract the pilot and passenger. DPS Ranger Helicopter then flew the pilot and passenger to a Phoenix area hospital to be checked out. The cause of the crash is under investigation. The passenger stated the plane’s engine failed.
