Pine Fire at 70-acres on the Prescott National Forest

Prescott National Forest fire crews are monitoring the Pine Fire, which is burning on the Verde Ranger District in the Bishop Creek area. Spokesperson Debbie Maneely says the lightning caused fire is currently 70-acres and is being used for management purposes. She says afternoon winds and warmer temperatures could push the fire to the north and northeast into heavier fuels, which could increase smoke. Smoke is visible from areas to the south of Pine Mountain Wilderness and I-17.
