12/2 The Prescott National Forest started work on a few mastication projects in the Walker and Lynx Lake area. Large machines will be used to chew up bushes and small trees as opposed to using fire. Crews are working on 968-acres south of the Ranch Trailhead parking area and west of Walker Road, 860-acres east of Walker Road and south of Lynx Lake and 22-acres south of Old Black Canyon Highway.
It may be nice to give some details.
Some people may not know what mastication means.
I know it means consumption, but the word doesn’t apply to forest thinning.
