Young Bald Eagle Rescued from Discarded Fishing Line

11/21 Game and Fish had to rescue a young bald eagle from fishing line. Officials say nest watchers at Willow Springs Lake in Prescott noticed fishing line wrapped around the eagle’s legs. The eagle was captured and found to have a deep wound to its leg and had to be taken to Liberty Wildlife for treatment and recovery. Anglers are being asked to do a better job of cleaning up their fishing line to prevent this from happening in the future. There are at least 85-recycling bins for monofilament at lakes and rivers throughout the state, targeting bald eagle breeding areas and high-use recreation sites.
