The Camp Verde sports complex gets its own special meeting Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. The town council work session is expected to give a detailed update of the work on the Camp Verde Sports Complex $12 million, 110-acre park facility off State Route 260 south of town. Playing fields have been in use this summer while work continues on other features of the complex. The much-delayed project includes two baseball/softball fields and two soccer/football fields.
Dirt and electrical installation are causing a current backup. Poles for the newly purchased sports lighting arrived Monday and can be up in a month, but the project is still waiting for APS approval.
