Fire Weather Watch issued for Thursday for most of Northern Arizona

A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for Thursday for most of Northern Arizona. The
National Weather Service says expect strong winds and low humidities, which makes
conditions perfect for the spread of a wildfire. The watch is in effect from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.
for areas in the Coconino, Kaibab and Prescott national forests including: Flagstaff, Williams,
Winslow, Holbrook, Tuba City, Page, Grand Canyon, Chinle, Ganado, and the North Rim.
Winds are forecasted to be 15-to-25 miles per hour with gusts up to 35 miles per hour at
times. If you are traveling, especially in a high profile vehicle, use caution. Also, if you’re
pulling a trailer, make sure chains are up off the highway and don’t toss cigarettes out of your
vehicle. One spark could start a fire that could spread very quickly.
