Flagstaff celebrates total lunar eclipse virtually

Flagstaff’s very own Lowell Observatory celebrated the total lunar eclipse virtually and inperson Sunday. The total lunar eclipse only happens once every two and a half years, and was
be visible from North and South America, western Europe, and Africa. Flagstaff was in a great
position to see the lunar eclipse because of the time of the event. The moon rose over
Flagstaff at 7:15 p.m., the partial phase at 7:27 p.m., and a total lunar eclipse at 8:29 p.m.
Lowell Observatory invited guests to come to the on-site viewing of the lunar eclipse which
which featured science talks and presentations, as well as being able to view the eclipse via
telescope.
