This past weekend was the first weekend under Stage One fire restrictions across
Northern Arizona. The area also saw a weekend on a Red Flag Warning. Coconino
National Forest officials say, there were still 13 illegal campfires that they tended
to over the weekend, 12 came on Saturday. Stage One restrictions mean, fires,
campfires, charcoal, coal and wood stoves are prohibited in open spaces, except
within a developed recreation site, or at private residences. Smoking is also
prohibited in public places.
