YCSO respond to paraglider crash near Antelope Peak in Yarnell

Monday afternoon, YCSO responded to a 911 call of a man who had crashed his paraglider on Antelope Peak in Yarnell. Spokesperson Kristin Greene says the Back Country Search and Rescue team located the man about a third of the way down the south side of the mountain, where he reported to be in extreme pain and couldn’t feel anything from the waist down. DPS helicopter was called in to assist in the long-haul rescue lift off the mountain face. The rescue took over an hour due to the terrain and power lines the landing zone area. Once safely off the mountain, the paraglider was flown to Deer Valley Hospital with unknown injuries.
