Jerome Fire responded to Mingus Mountain Tuesday morning regarding a 66-year old female hiker who broke her ankle on Forest Trail 106. Officials say due to her location, trail conditions and dangers to rescuers the decision was made to short haul her with DPS Ranger helicopter. The hiker was safely rescued off the mountain and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
