On Saturday, the Prescott National Forest will waive fees at all Forest-operated recreation sites in honor of National Get Outdoors Day. Officials say the waiver does not apply to reserved group-use areas, overnight camping at Forest Service developed campgrounds or sites operated by concessionaires. Sites where fees are waived include Lynx Lake Recreation Area, Granite Basin Recreation Area, and more. The remaining fee waiver dates for 2021 are National Public Lands Day on September 25-th and Veterans Day on November 11-th. Contact the forest for more information. Stage 2 fire restrictions will be in place in Yavapai and Coconino Counties starting Friday morning.
