Tussock Fire 15% contained

Very little new growth is being reported on the Tussock fire southwest of Crown King. Officials say the fire is 4,421-acres in size and is 15% contained. The number of people working on the fire jumped from 230 to 398 Wednesday. Minnehaha, Fort Misery and Horse Thief Basin remain evacuated and residents of Crown King remain on “SET” status. Crown King is open to residents only. Several roads in the area remain closed. The fire began this past Saturday and was human caused.
