Tussock Fire over 4,100-acres/Evacuations remain in place

As of last night the Tussock Fire southwest of Crown King was just over 4,100-acres in size with 0% containment. Evacuations put in place over the weekend remain in place and residents in Crown King remain on “SET” status and should be ready to leave at a moment’s notice. The area surrounding the human caused fire remains closed to the public. Several forest service roads are also closed. Crews continue to work to contain the northern edge of the fire. The Type-1 Incident Management Team hopes to have the fire contained by May 22-nd.
