Due to critical fire weather, Coconino National Forest fire managers will not begin prescribed burns tomorrow as originally planned. Spokesman Brady Smith says the burns will begin Thursday with 190-acres scheduled to be treated with fire in the northern end of Beaver Creek. Thursday and Friday crews will also treat up to 4,000-acres north of the San Francisco Peaks. Smith says smoke will likely be visible through the weekend. Kaibab National Forest crews conducted a test burn Monday and decided to cancel all burns planned this week.
