Prescott Valley Police respond to domestic violence incident

Sunday night, Prescott Valley Police responded to the 1000-block of North Rusty Nail Drive due to a physical domestic violence incident. Once on scene, officers learned the suspect, 22-year old Caleb Rose of Prescott Valley, was still inside the home with two victims. Rose had assaulted a family member causing injuries and threatened the family member with a gun. The victims were able to escape the property with assistance from first responders. Rose ignored officers’ commands to leave the house, at which time he ignited a homemade bomb in the garage. Rose then attempted to escape by backing his mother’s car through the garage door and fleeing the location at a high rate of speed. Rose then crashed the car and fled on foot. The vehicle caught fire due to the crash. Witnesses assisted officers in locating Rose to take him into custody. He refused to comply, so a K9 officer was called in to assist. One victim was taken to YRMC for non-life threatening injuries and officers were treated for exposure to hazardous fumes from the bomb. Rose was arrested on multiple charges.
