Vaccine Delays force cancellation of appointments through Spectrum in Yavapai County

Spectrum Healthcare, the local nonprofit healthcare organization administering the Moderna vaccine in Yavapai County, has announced that appointments for receiving the vaccine on Wednesday, February 17th and
Thursday, February 18th have been moved to Friday or later due to shipping delays on the East Coast. Extreme weather has caused delays in the shipping and delivery of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to Yavapai County.
Anyone who already has a confirmed appointment will receive the vaccine as soon as the next shipment arrives. “We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we adjust our schedules to accommodate for a delayed shipment of this week’s allotment of the vaccine. All those who have a confirmed appointment for Wednesday or Thursday are asked to check our website for details about when we can potentially see them for their immunization. Those who have a scheduled 2nd dose appointment can still receive their injection up to 2 weeks after their scheduled appointment and have the same level of protection as stated on the
Moderna vaccine information sheet.” stated April Rhodes, CEO of Spectrum Healthcare. Rhodes went on to say, “We are re-deploying our FEMA and Forestry support staff to answer calls from patients who may have more questions about their appointment or anything related to the covid vaccine. The phone number for our pop-up Vaccination Station call center is 928-414-8884. We are extremely grateful that we have the support of local and federal agencies to help us navigate the shifting landscape with the vaccine
rollout.” The Vaccination Stations are expected to re-open on Friday in Cottonwood and Prescott Valley if the expected shipment of vaccine is delivered by 12pm on Thursday, February Spectrum Healthcare will release more information and details if there is a need to delay the re-opening of the Vaccination Stations. Patients who are affected by the closures on Wednesday and Thursday can return to the Vaccination Station that is most
convenient to them over the next 6 days. The sites are expected to be open as follows: Friday 2/19/21
