Prescott Fire responded to a call for a pine tree that was on fire off Iron Springs Road and Skyline Drive on Wednesday night. Spokesman Jeff Jones says crews arrived on scene and found about a 1/10-th of an acre wildland fire that was burning in pine needles and scrub oak with about 1-foot flames. He says crews utilized tank water to make an efficient knockdown of the fire and prevent it from spreading. Jones says the fire appears to have been started from an illegal encampment within the forest and was left unattended. No injuries were reported.
