Two brothers arrested for trying to pass counterfeit money

Thursday night, Cottonwood Police responded to a business in the 400-block of South Main Street after receiving reports a male subject tried to use a counterfeit $100-bill. Sgt. Monica Kuhlt says as an officer investigated that report another business in the 500-block of South Main Street called to report a couple of male subjects tried to pass a counterfeit $100-bill in their store. One of the suspects matched the description of the one who tried to pass it just moments before at the first business that reported it. Kuhlt says as officers attempted to locate the suspects, dispatch received three more reports from business in the area that two men were trying to pass off a counterfeit $100-bill. The suspects, brother’s 39-year old Joshua Poe and 44-year old David Poe of Cottonwood were located and taken into custody.
