Kaibab National Forest approves new pipeline for the city of Williams

The Kaibab National Forest has issued a final Decision Notice and Finding of No Significant Impact approving the Dogtown Water Pipeline Project. Officials say they will issue a special use permit to Williams to install and maintain water lines from the Dogtown Reservoir and wells on the Williams Ranger District to the city’s water treatment facility and water distribution system. Currently, the city transfers 80% of its water supply in one 86-year old water line. The project will also bring the city’s sewer system to Bearizona. The 8.3-miles of line will be replaced by the end of next year.
