Copper Canyon Fire reminds residents to check fire restrictions before burning

Copper Canyon Fire Marshal Ken Krebbs says while some forests, fire jurisdictions, and counties have lifted their fire restrictions, some have not. Krebbs says Copper Canyon’s restrictions are still in place. He says restrictions will be in place on a weekly basis, as they monitor fire conditions and monsoonal moisture. If you are going to do any welding, grinding, or cutting of pipes, you will need a hot works permit. He says the permits are free and can be picked up at their Camp Verde administrative office. If you are traveling this weekend, make sure to check the website of the county, forest or fire jurisdiction you are visiting, before doing any kind of burning.
