Verde Valley Fire responded to a residential structure fire in Oak Creek Valley on Saturday evening. Fire crews found that “several community members had acted quickly to apply water to the flames” that first burned the tree, then caught the side of the house and roof on fire. No injuries were reported but the house sustained some severe damage that required the residents to relocate. There is no word yet on how the fire started.
