Wind Advisory and Red Flag Warning Wednesday in northern Arizona

The National Weather Service in Flagstaff says there’s a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms across southern Apache County through this afternoon, with dry conditions elsewhere. Very gusty southwest winds will develop Wednesday afternoon as a cold front approaches. A Wind Advisory and Red Flag Warning is in place Wednesday afternoon for most of the area along and north of the Mogollon Rim, due to southwest winds 25-to-35-mph with gusts to 45-mph.
Wednesday night/Thursday, a dry cold front will move from north to south across northern Arizona. The front will move along the Arizona/Utah border Wednesday evening; moving southward overnight, and pushing through southern Yavapai County and the White Mountains by noon Thursday. Daytime temperatures will be from 10-to-20-degrees cooler as winds shift to the north/northwest behind the front. Dry and warmer weather is forecast this weekend.
