ADOT in coordination with the Federal Highway Administration and the U.S. Forest Service is beginning an $8.2 million pavement preservation and safety improvement project on 12 miles of Highway 89A north of Sedona in Oak Creek Canyon. Crews will be removing and replacing three inches of pavement in both directions on the highway, replacing 30,000 feet of guardrail and removing trees identified as roadside hazards from both sides of the highway. Work is scheduled to begin this month Monday through Friday from 7-am to 7pm and is expected to be completed in fall 2020.
