Tuesday, YCSO responded to YRMC on a report of a child brought to the hospital under suspicious circumstances. Spokesman Chris Wilson says Ciara Mendoza-Keel brought her nearly 3-year old child to the hospital after she watched the child stagger and then fall unconscious. Wilson says a preliminary toxicology test on the child tested positive for THC. He says the little girl was flown to Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Mendoza-Keel stated her husband has a medical marijuana card and he admitted the child consumed a portion of his edibles. The husband, Francis Mendoza-Keel, stated he smoke two marijuana cigarettes the night before, but couldn’t remember if he put it away. It’s believed the child ate 4 marijuana sour rainbow belts, which have a tranquilizing effect. At last report the little girl was in intensive care, but improving. A second child, soon to turn 2-years of age, also testsed positive for THC.  Mendoza-Keel was jailed on child abuse charges.
