BLM to implement some fire restrictions Thursday, June 20

Starting tomorrow morning, Stage-1fire restrictions will go into place on BLM lands within the Colorado River District. The district’s 5.4-million acres of public lands in western Arizona extend from southern Mohave County, along the Colorado River, through La Paz and Yuma Counties and include the management of a small strip of land in southeastern California. Campfires and charcoal fires are only allowed in designated campgrounds, smoking is limited to enclosed buildings and vehicles, welding or the use of any torch, metal cutting or grinding implement is prohibited and fireworks are illegal.
