DPS identified the man killed in a crash caused by a wrong-way driver early Monday morning on northbound I-17 near Cordes Junction. The victim was 64-year old Thomas Langgood of Mesa. Witnesses told DPS Langgood was forced off northbound I-17 by the driver of a black mustang. Langgood’s vehicle hit an embankment, came to rest on the interstate and was then struck broadside by another vehicle. Two of his passengers were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the mustang fled the scene as did another vehicle that struck a guardrail during the incident. DPS would like to identify both drivers.
