Phone texts scam targeting Latino community.

The Prescott Valley Police Department says unknown suspects are texting threatening messages to members of the Latino community seeking to scam money from them. Spokesperson Jerry Ferguson say the texts also include short clips of violent videos. Ferguson says should you receive such texts, block the phone number from your phone and notify the police department. Save the texts and videos on your phone until the police department can view and collect the evidence, after which you may erase the message. Do not return the phone call or respond to the message. Ferguson says scammers are always seeking ways to threaten the community by instilling fear and depriving residents of hard-earned income. If you see or hear anything suspicious, immediately notify the police department.
