New report says water related outdoor recreation adds 3 billion to economy in Yavapai and Coconino Counties.

Audubon Arizona recently released a study on the economic impact of water related outdoor recreation in Yavapai and Coconino counties. The report shows an average of 545,000 residents participate in water related outdoor recreation creating an annual economic impact of $3 billion. The study also found water based recreation in both counties generates a combined 26,400 jobs. The report says, as a whole, Arizona’s waterways are enjoyed by more than 1.5 million residents each year and contribute $13.5 billion to the state’s economy while supporting 114,000 jobs.
