A Paulden man has been arrested on charges he downloaded child pornography. YCSO spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn says the investigation began in mid-February when they received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. At least 2 images were reviewed and depicted preadolescent females in sexual positions, some appearing about 8-years old. Detectives issued a subpoena for the account connected to the downloads and learned it was associated with 56-year old Gene Sherman of Paulden. Detectives eventually sought and obtained a search warrant for Sherman’s home, which was served March 11-th. He says upon questioning Sherman admitted to downloading the images and suggested similar images would be found on his electronic devices in his home. A search of the house also located a fully automatic rifle, numerous handguns and suppressors or silencers. Sherman was jailed on felony child pornography and weapons charges. A total of 10-images have been found.
