Capacity Review Findings of the Arizona Department of Education released.

Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Kathy Hoffman announced the findings of an internal capacity review of the Arizona Department of Education. The review was conducted to better ascertain ADE’s capacity to support schools and deliver a high-quality education to all students. The review was conducted by the Council of Chief State School Officers over a two-day period in February. During the two days, evidence was gathered on key aspects of the department’s capacity. The evidence was related to areas including vision and planning, ADE culture and capacity, as well as external relationships and communication. The capacity review revealed some key areas of work that agency leaders should focus on in the next several months including; clarifying the strategic vision, creating a plan for implementing the vision, upgrading unreliable and out of date technology, streamlining the human capital management process.
