A lot more snow coming today/Winter Storm Warning remains in place until Friday evening

A Winter Storm Warning remains in place through 5-pm Friday. Heavy snow has been occurring since last night making travel difficult. Even ADOT plows are not immune to the hazardous conditions. A plow slid into the median of I-17 just south of Flagstaff; traffic is getting by in the slow lane. Travel will become even more difficult as the day progresses. Additional snow accumulations of 12 to 24 inches, with locally higher amounts along the Mogollon Rim from Payson northward, are expected. Additional snow forecast from now until 5-pm Friday includes Doney Park 13 to 19 inches, Flagstaff 17 to 23, Forest Lakes 31 to 39, Heber-Overgaard 20 to 26 inches, Payson 23 to 31, Pine-Strawberry 27 to 35 inches, Sedona 11 to 17 and Williams 15 to 21 inches of snow. A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions are occurring. For the latest in road conditions contact ADOT at 511 or follow them on Twitter or Facebook.
