Preliminary snow amounts in the forecast suggest biggest winter storm so far Thursday through Friday.

The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a preliminary snow amount forecast for the next storm system. Officials say another winter storm, even larger than the current one impacting northern Arizona, will bring what is likely to be the biggest snowfall so far this winter. The precipitation will enter the region Wednesday night and begin to taper off Friday afternoon. Snow levels are expected to drop to 3,000-feet midday Thursday through midday Friday. Current snow expectations are 18-to-24” in Flagstaff and 6-to-10” in Sedona. Camp Verde may see 5-to-9” with Prescott receiving 15-to-21” and Payson could see 23-to-31” of snow. Anyone with travel plans should begin to consider alternatives.
