House fire on Sanborn in Sedona contained to a bedroom

Sedona Fire crews responded to a house fire on Sanborn Drive Saturday afternoon. Fire Marshal Jon Davis says no one was home at the time of the fire and the flames were contained to a back bedroom. He says fortunately the occupants had closed the bedroom door, which made it more difficult for the fire to spread. Davis says it’s always a good idea to close doors when you’re not home. He says the fire was contained to the bedroom and damages came to $20,000. The cause of the fire was linked to an electrical cord that had become pinched between the floor and a toy basket. The cord overheated and ignited.
