Sedona Fire kept busy with rockslides and rescues due to heavy rain and flooding event.

Sedona Fire crews were kept very busy last night and into this morning. Interim Chief Jason Coil says crews responded to numerous rock slides up and down Oak Creek Canyon. Crews also assisted motorists with damaged vehicles including a number of flat tires due to striking debris in the road. Coil says crews removed the smaller boulders and debris with the larger to be removed by ADOT plows. Coil says crews were also called out to assist Copper Canyon Fire in Rimrock with multiple Swift water rescues. He says Sedona Fire had two extra Swiftwater Technicians on duty all night whose only job was to monitor and report water flow levels and update crews on scene.
