Evacuations from flooding in Yavapai County effected large portion of the Verde Valley.

Evacuations in the Verde Valley began shortly before 10-PM last night when Yavapai County Spokesman David McAtee says officials began receiving reports of flooding conditions in Rimrock. A Code Red Alert was issued and multiple rescues were performed, removing evacuees from impacted homes and vehicle stranded in floodwaters. In Camp Verde, flooding conditions began around 2-AM and in Clarkdale around 5-AM. The City of Cottonwood had minimal impacts associated with the flooding. McAtee says Yavapai County Flood Control District continued monitoring flood levels throughout the night and Development Services was contacted and Preliminary Damage Assessments were arranged for the morning after flooding conditions had receded. Public Works will be conducting debris clean up as the water level allows. McAtee says flooding conditions still exist along the waterways associated with all of these incidents, though they are seeing a gradual decrease throughout the area.
