Dewey-Humboldt woman killed in three vehicle crash on I-17 at Black Canyon City Wednesday night

Wednesday night at 7-pm, DPS Troopers responded to a multi-vehicle fatal crash on northbound I-17 near Black Canyon City. Officials say an SUV headed northbound in the right lane crossed into the left lane striking another SUV and then a guardrail. A third vehicle then struck the second vehicle. Officials say 88-year old Louella Hunsaker of Dewey-Humboldt was taken to a hospital where she later died from her injuries. The driver of the vehicle that caused the crash, a 75-year old man from Dewey-Humboldt, was taken to a hospital and treated for his injuries. The driver of the second vehicle, a 61-year old man from Flagstaff, was not injured. The 23-year old female driver from Phoenix in the third vehicle, along with her 4 passengers, were all taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. The crash closed the northbound lanes of I-17 for a couple of hours.
