Flagstaff Police officials say they are continuing to receive reports of wild animal bites.

The Flagstaff Police officials say they are continuing to receive reports of wild animal bites in the community. Friday, Animal Control officers responded to the 1600 block of North Wakanda Street in the Amberwood area of east Flagstaff regarding a citizen being bitten by a coyote. Just two weeks prior, Animal Control Officers captured a wild fox which was confirmed to have rabies. Rabies has not been specific to coyotes or foxes and has been confirmed in skunks as well. Officials recommend citizens not approach or have contact with wild animals; and if you are bitten by a wild animal, to seek emergency medical attention. If you do encounter a wild animal behaving in an uncharacteristic manner, please contact the Flagstaff Police.
