Yavapai County Board of Supervisors approve several grants for the betterment of the County.

At the last Yavapai County Board of Supervisors’ meeting, the Board approved several grants for the betterment of Yavapai County. The Community Health Center of Yavapai received grant funds from Fry’s Food group to be used to help pay for mammograms and related diagnostic testing for uninsured patients at no cost to them. A second grant was for the Yavapai County Flood Control District in the amount of $60,000 to identify and design green infrastructure projects. These funds come from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. In 2012, Prescott Creeks completed the “Improvement Plan for the Upper Granite Creek Watershed” and will be using the grant funding to implement projects designed to minimize pollutants entering into the creeks.
